Students in Bangladesh who want to enrol at an Italian university for the 2026/27 academic year must follow some precise rules. The Italian Embassy in Dhaka summarised them in a notice published in June.
1. Universitaly and the appointment
Students must first register their pre-enrolment on the Universitaly portal. VFS Global will then contact them by email, at the same address used on Universitaly, to schedule the visa application appointment.
2. Financial guarantees
Proof of means can come from the student or from relatives: parents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts and cousins. Relatives may also be legal residents of Italy or Italian citizens.
3. Language and qualifications
- Only language certificates from internationally recognised institutes or universities are accepted, and they must clearly show all four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.
- To prove the authenticity of qualifications you need a CIMEA certificate or a Declaration of Value.
4. The deadline
The last day to apply for a student visa for university pre-enrolment is 30 November 2026. For questions, the Embassy gives the address ambsec.dhaka@esteri.it.
The number of student visas is growing, but university places are limited: prepare your documents early and be wary of agencies promising guaranteed admission.
